Ninoy - matigas ang ulo!

“Benigno Aquino decided to return to the Philippines after three years of self-imposed exile. As a popular politician, Aquino represented the primary threat to the Marcos presidency. For his “protection,” a military escort greeted Aquino when he arrived at Manila International Airport. As he exited the plane, there were shots.”

This has been the scenario that shocked a lot of people. Tears, mourning and grievances had summoned the entirety of the country’s quietness. Because of the event, his assassination served as an inspiration that shall lit the fire in every Filipino’s hearts and would eventually consume the Marcos regime.

Long before when Aquino still dwells with us, he would just throw jokes during speeches on the multitude, yet, I know, deep within his roots, there came that vision of empowering our state to do what should be done and not just being accomplished with an aid of someone who nearly dictates everything nor risk lives for own subsidy.

This is Ninoy, an influential figure who has touched a lot of people’s sympathy and has bestowed eminent and remarkable results from our country’s totality.

I can still remember what Cory said in memory of her loving husband that if Goliath refuses to yield, we shall keep dipping into our arsenal of nonviolence and escalate our nonviolent struggle.” The revolution shall then start.
